COMPETITION 2012  

A three-days event, which took place at “Meidan Al-Faris” at the Mounted Police Command, located opposite to the Royal Polo Club in Zarqa, on May 23-26, 2012. About 45 competitors participated from the following countries: Britain, China, France, Germany, Hungary, Iran, Japan, Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Poland, Romania, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, USA, and Jordan (the hosting country).

Three different main styles were performed: the Hungarian (European), the Korean (Asian), and the Oriental (Turkish combined with Jordanian disciplines), which was introduced for the first time this year. Also, the Korean Style introduced for the first time the “Triple Show” in addition to the other two shows; the “Multiple” and the “Serial”. As well, the event demonstrated various shows and performances of horseback archery presented by some of the competing countries, in addition to the hosting country’s teams. They took place on the last day during the finals and as part of the Closing Ceremony.

The first two days of the competition saw the “Elimination Stage” for all 45 competitors, while the last day witnessed the “Final Runs” for only 16 competitors, who scored the highest during the “Elimination Phase”. There was one day of rest between the “Elimination Phase” and the “Final Runs”. The winners of the individual styles of the finals were determined and announced on the last day together with the winner of the main title “Al-Faris Champion”. The proceeds of this event went to the injured military officers of the Public Security Directorate, who have served their country and its citizens.
